Identify Communication Strategy

The budget process should include a plan to inform participants, stakeholders, and the general public about how the budget process works, why each decision was made and how to provide input in the process.

Milestones

  • Level 1: Leadership communicates why district is undertaking Smarter School Spending, how the district will get to where it wants to go, and what district staff are being asked to do.
  • Level 2: Develop a strategy to identify target audiences, tailor messages to them, and use diverse communications channels.
  • Level 3: Design participation and engagement methods to draw in a large cross-section of stakeholders.
